At The Storyteller’s Shelf Podcast, we’re committed to sharing the magic of children’s literature with every young reader. Last season, we collected over 1700 books for children’s hospitals, Tier 1 schools, and local areas in need. As part of our official launch this season, we’re hosting our second annual book drive to bring stories to children in need.
Here’s how you can get involved:
DONATE BOOKS
Donate new or gently used children’s books. Email us to find directions to your closest donation bin or to arrange a pick up/drop off or mail in, as needed. Remember, children’s books include board books, picture books, chapter books, middle grade books, and young adult books.

HOST A BIN (OR A DRIVE IN YOUR AREA!)
Local businesses can join in by hosting a donation bin at their location!
Set up a bin in your business and contact us. We will provide flyers, assets, and marketing as needed to get the momentum going. If you are in a local area to Houston, our co-host will pick up your donations at the end of the drive to ferry them to our chosen nonprofits.
As a thank-you, your business will be featured on our “Our Partners & Sponsors” website page, giving you recognition within our community for your charitable spirit and helping to drive traffic to your business.
Out of state? No problem. Talk to us to join The Storytellers initiative to collect books and donate them to literacy charities in your area. This is a nation-wide effort!
Please note that most in person donations, pick ups, and drop offs will be available in the area of Spring, Texas. We encourage people to send in books via media mail, but we cannot at this time reimburse you for your shipping fee yet. We are working on obtaining sponsors to be able to do so.
JOIN OUR CAUSE
Make a one-time contribution online by making a tax deductible donation to our Storytellers Foundation GoFundMe or support us through our levels below. We also accept checks or cash donations; just reach out via email to coordinate the details with us. Every dollar counts toward helping us produce our podcast while giving back to grow our communities. All funds will support The Storytellers Foundation so we can actively create change just like this sustainably.
Where will books go?
Each year, we reveal our charities as a surprise in the countdown! We will announce the charities that will receive the donated books on November 30 on our website.
