All About Dana

Dana Goldstein began telling stories at the age of 6 when she was punished and sent to her room. Her instructions were to not play, not read, not colour, just sit on her bed and think about what she had done. To quell the boredom, Dana started making up stories, which she told herself, out loud. She began scripting stories at the age of nine, eventually moving into a career as a journalist, writing feature stories for magazines and newspapers across North America. Dana has three published memoirs: The Girl in the Gold Bikini, Murder on my Mind, and Spent. She is the author of a middle grade duology: Shift (2023, Young Dragons Press) and Flow (2024, Young Dragons Press). Her most recent novel, Katya Noskov’s Last Shot, is a page-turning contemporary fiction. Her first short story, Malcolm and the Magpie was included in The Kids Short Story Advent Calendar (Hingston & Olsen). Her work has appeared in Write magazine, and Women Writers, Women’s Books. In 2020, Dana launched her podcast, What Were You Thinking, featuring conversations with authors from around the globe. Dana lives, creates and writes from her home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
